PILGRED
The PILGRED Reactor is the Daedalus's main propulsion system. Due to hunter attacks, it is broken at the start of every game and needs to be repaired.
"The PILGRED Reactor. When the Daedalus set off, these were the only means of travelling faster than the speed of light. Getting it working again could allow you to return to Sol. Tear through space-time in complete safety."
Repairing

Players can at the PILGRED terminal to help repair it. Each repair action costs 1
or 2
action points, and will advance its completion by a random amount based on the character's Skills.
- 9-13% for a player with both
Physicist and
Technician (then 7-10%, 5-7%… for additional participations without relays). - 5-7% for a player with either
Physicist or
Technician (then 3-4%, 1-1%… for additional participations without relays). - 1% for everyone else (then 0% for additional participations). Best used only to relay other players.

A player can help repair PILGRED even if they are
Dirty. Repairs have a chance to make a player dirty or to injure them (for -2
).

Completion

Upon completion,
NERON will announce PILGRED's activation alongside the name of the character who completed it. Once PILGRED is active:
- The
Commander (or anyone using the
Hacker Kit) can use the Command Terminal to travel to Sol or Eden for 2
, ending the game.
- Eden can only be traveled to if its coordinates have already been determined with the
Supercalculator.
- Eden can only be traveled to if its coordinates have already been determined with the
Warning: Beware: The humans only win if there are no
Mush on board when they end the game. If PILGRED is repaired too early, a crafty Mush can return the ship to Sol and force a loss!
- The Coffee Machine regenerates four times faster (producing
Coffee on cycles 1, 3, 5, and 7).
- If
Fission Coffee Roaster is complete, the coffee machine will regenerate every cycle.
