Action and Movement Points
Action Points
In General
Action Points
are one of a character's main resources. It is needed to accomplish tasks aboard the Daedalus.
- Most actions cost 1-2
, though some complex actions cost more. - The
cost of certain actions can be reduced or increased with certain items, certain character traits, or certain skills. - The default
maximum is 12. It can be increased with the
Lethargy skill or the
Noise Reducer NERON project.
Obtaining AP
Each character regenerates 1
at the start of every cycle.
- If a character is lying on a bed or sofa during cycle change, they regenerate an additional
.
Chao's
Hyperactive trait prevents him from benefiting from beds. - Certain skills, character traits, and
Diseases can positively or negatively affect
regeneration. - You can regain extra
by eating
Rations or taking certain
Drugs. - Accepting a mission from the
Commander allows you to regain 3
(or 6
if you have the
Devotion skill).
AP and Game Difficulty
The game's difficulty is partially tied to the number of
spent during a cycle. The more
is spent, the more difficult the game becomes (via the appearance of extra Hazards and Hunters), and vice versa. This is meant to ensure that the game does not become overly difficult for crews with several
Inactive players.
- Special action points count as the action for which they are used.
- It is therefore recommended not to spend too many
on actions of little use, such as attempting to solve the
MAD Kube or moving pointlessly around the ship.
Special Action Points
Some actions can be performed using special action points in lieu of
. These special points are earned through certain associated skills.
A point is spent when performing certain actions related to the associated skill. Special action points take priority and will always be spent before generic
, helping your character perform more actions before needing to rest. The maximum limit for special action points is equal to (# of points earned daily) * 2.

In General
Movement Points
are used to move between two rooms of the ship. Each movement costs 1
, with the exception of
Terrence who can move for free if another person is in the room he starts in. As with
, the
maximum is 12.
Obtaining MP
Each character regenerates 1
at the start of every cycle. (
Chao's
Hyperactive trait grants him an additional
per cycle.)
can be converted into
when passing through a door, but not the other way around. 1
→ 3
, one of which is immediately consumed upon passing through the door. (
Terrence's
Disabled status reduces the
obtained by 2. The
Sprinter skill and the
Anti-Grav Scooter both increase the
gained by 2 (non-stacking).)- If the Gravity Simulator is broken or restarting, the all
gains are reduced by 1. This means that no
will be gained at cycle change, and
-
conversions only grant 2
.
