With Determined, the multiplication factor is 1.5.

  • Under normal circumstances, upon failing a percentage-based action, the chance of success is multiplied by 1.25.
  • With Determined a 50% success rate would rise to 75% instead of 62(.5)% (the decimal portion is retained, but the success roll rounds the number down).
  • This effect is Most noticeable for actions with a low success rate.

Example

If an action started at 1%, the chances of success after each attempt would be:

Without Determined (×1.25 upon each failure): 1% → 1₍.₂₅₎% → 1₍.₅₆₎% → 1₍.₉₅₎% → 2₍.₄₄₎% → 3₍.₀₅₎% → 3₍.₈₁₎% → 4₍.₇₆₎% → 5₍.₉₆₎% → 7₍.₄₅₎% → 9₍.₃₁₎%

With Determined (×1.5 upon each failure): 1% → 1₍.₅₎% → 2₍.₂₅₎% → 3₍.₃₈₎% → 5₍.₀₆₎% → 7₍.₅₉₎% → 11₍.₃₉₎% → 17₍.₀₉₎% → 25₍.₆₃₎% → 38₍.₄₄₎% → 57₍.₆₆₎%
