"Genuinely gifted, and capable of taking any task on, Andie is ready to do anything for the good of the Federation... or not?"

Summary

Being highly-skilled and dedicated to the crew, Andie is torn between several responsibilities. As Icon Finola's replacement, (s)he is expected to spearhead the ship's Research; but (s)he can also be good at piloting, Expeditions (with PolyvalentPolyvalent), and Icon Mush-hunting (with ConfidentConfident).

Sub-Lieutenant Andie Graham is still not aware that the Daedalus has cut all ties with the SDF. Still operating under the illusion of being on a Federation-sanctioned mission, Andie is still working towards the mission objective. Upon discovering that their idol, Sgt Derek Hogan has joined the crew of the Daedalus, Andie applies for a position on board. Andie's unique skillset makes them invaluable in ensuring mission success.

Skill Choices

Skill Description Kept if Icon Mush?
PilotPilot Never causes accidents when using any ship.
  • Doubles the chances of hitting Hunters when using patrol ships.
  • Is not blocked by NERON's pilot lock.
Yes
DevotionDevotion Recieve +3 Action Point when accepting a mission from the  Commander.
PolyvalentPolyvalent Grants the bonuses of BiologistBiologist, BotanistBotanist, and DiplomatDiplomat. Does not gain their respective actions or special AP.
ConfidentConfident Once per day, each crewmate can Action Point Chitchat with you for +2 Morale, which reveals their last actions to you. The number of actions revealed corresponds with the number of Morale you have.
ExpertExpert Increases your chances of success with all actions by 20%, but also increases your chances of getting hurt or Dirty.

Tips

  • Pay close attention to the crew line-up before selecting your skills! Your skillset is most effective when it's used to fill in the gaps left by your crewmates.
  • You'll be most efficient if you focus on one task at a time, rather than running around the ship (and wasting Movement Point) trying to take on multiple things at once.
  • Since Icon Chao is absent on Andie's ships, you'll be taking his place with your ConfidentConfident skill. Contribute to the investigation by pressuring your crewmates to Chitchat with you after they've made suspicious movements (and take note of who doesn't confide).
  • If you take DevotionDevotion, pressure the  Commander to send missions to you whenever possible.

Skill Notes

  • PilotPilot is a solid choice that can prove invaluable if something happens to the other pilots. Can make you a great expedition leader if combined with PolyvalentPolyvalent, or a decent fighter pilot with ExpertExpert.
  • DevotionDevotion is dependent on whether your ship has a cooperative  Commander who's willing to send you missions. If they are, you can save up daily missions for a huge boost when it's needed most.
  • PolyvalentPolyvalent is considered Andie's best skill due to the varied bonuses it provides, allowing you to replace Icon Finola in the Laboratory, assist Icon Ian with grafts, and take Icon Janice's place on expeditions. It's hard to do without it.
  • ConfidentConfident is essential for the Icon Mush hunt due to Icon Chao's absence. It complements TorturerTorturer, trading off player consent for more actions revealed per use (so long as you keep your Morale high). It's also useful for helping morale-starved characters such as Icon Janice and Icon Raluca.
  • ExpertExpert is considered niche, but can help turn a difficult situation around when combined with other abilities.

If Mush

Andie's proficiency in multiple areas also allows him/her to sabotage those areas. Coordinate with you Icon Mush partner to take advantage of your position!

  • It's usually expected that you'll take PolyvalentPolyvalent, making you an important researcher. You can slow down research progress with inconsistent relays, or win their trust by rushing important projects (and then subtly sabotaging them in other areas).
    • For example, you could push to go on expeditions in lieu of a DiplomatDiplomat, then use TraitorTraitor to sabotage important zones.
  • PilotPilot can be used to your advantage, should you decide to take it; it gives you a good reason to take a bed, and it allows you to discreetly extract spores in patrol ships.
  • ConfidentConfident makes you an important part of the investigation team, which you can exploit to your advantage. Deceive other investigators by clearing you Icon Mush partner and by shifting blame onto crewmates who haven't Chitchatted with you. However, remember to adjust action list to your theorical human morale level: else you'll be outing yourself.
  • If you're lucky enough for one of your fellow Icon Mush to be the  Commander, having DevotionDevotion could be a huge boon for you!
  • ExpertExpert increases the success rate of your combat actions, which can be very handy during a rampage...

Trivia

  • Andie and Icon Derek were added in Episode III of the original Mush, replacing Icon Finola and Icon Chao. From then on, the pairs would rotate every update.
  • Like Icon Derek, Andie's portrait is done by a different artist from the other characters.
  • Andie was canonically androgynous in the original Mush, and had a unique Trait that allowed him/her to do the thing with anyone aboard the ship. eMush developers have re-imagined them as non-binary or gender-fluid, and have removed the Androgynous trait due to redundancy (since doing the thing is no longer sex-restricted).
