Summary

Chao is the Daedalus's head of security (except in timelines where his role is replaced by Derek). Hot-headed and trigger-happy, Chao is at his best when he's relentlessly hunting down the ship's Mush, but he's also useful on expeditions and for protecting his crewmates from imminent harm.

Wang Chao is assigned to crew protection detail. His chaotic personality makes him as much of a threat to his allies as his enemies. Despite errors made in his youth, Chao managed to earn the trust of his team by organising the emergency evacuation convoy from the Daedalus and successfully protecting them against ex-members of the SDF.

Shooter	Gain 2 per day, usable with any firearm (including turrets and fighter ships). Increases your chances of landing critical hits and reduces your chances of critical failures.	Yes
Survivalist	While on expeditions, all damage is reduced by one point. The Provision event provides an additional Alien Steak. You are the last to die if a fatality occurs from an instant-death event.
Wrestler	* The maximum damage of your unarmed attacks increases by two points. You can kick out a teammate for 2 (1 if Inactive).
Torturer	Gain 1 per day (max 2). For 1 , you can torture a crewmate, causing them to lose 1 and revealing their last actions. The number of actions revealed corresponds to the number of the victim is missing.
Bodyguard	For 1 , you can protect another crewmate. So long as you are both in the same room, aggressive actions targeting the crewmate cost 2 more.
Infantryman	Start with the game with a Custom Blaster. +1 per day. Double your chances of hitting with guns and turrets.

Tips

• As the Daedalus's security chief, you are an important part of the Mush hunt. Conduct investigations and coordinate with trusted crewmates to annihilate the Mush!
  • Use your wisely to investigate crewmates who have acted suspiciously. You can raise its effectiveness by punching or shooting them beforehand to lower their . (Be careful not to kill them by accident!)
  • If you've closed in on a suspected Mush, be prepared to deliver the killing blow personally... but it may be smart to get some help from trusted crewmates.
• You are second in line to receive the  Commander title. Be prepared to assume your new responsibilities, should something happen to Jin Su.
• Keep in mind that your Hyperactive status means that you don't benefit from lying in beds. Therefore, you should be thoughtful about spending .

Skill Notes

• Shooter is very useful for saving when handling firearms, allowing you to deliver justice more effectively.
• Survivalist makes you a valuable ally during Expeditions, and gives you extra utility once the Mush have been exterminated.
• Wrestler makes you an effective combatant with nothing but your fists! It's a good alternative to Shooter, allowing you to effectively take down Mush without weapons. The ability to kick out troublesome crewmates is also handy.
• Torturer is essential for Chao's investigative abilities, making him one of the best detectives on the ship. The ability to view a crewmate's action history can allow you to instantly expose a careless Mush. Be mindful that repeatedly hurting other crewmates to Torture them may not be overly appreciated...

If Mush

• Chao benefits greatly from his position within the investigation team. By using Torturer, he can exonerate his colleagues or accuse innocent persons. He can also use it as an excuse to hurt other crewmates (though they may not appreciate this!)
• His excellent combat capabilities allow him to tip things in the Mush's favor with brute force, slaying important crewmates quickly and effectively. Use to counterbalance the loss of due to your hyperactivity, or Hard Boiled to make it harder for the humans to kill you.
