"Quantum Physics genius, her vast skillset renders her indispensable on board. Some say her tears are flammable and that she once kicked a giraffe to death. All we know is that she's called Raluca."
Summary
As the crew's resident physicist, Raluca's strong abilities allow her to actively contribute to NERON projects and ship maintenance. She is the inventor of PILGRED, making her the most capable to quickly repair it. Raluca dislikes spending time with anyone but Schrödinger (icon), and staying around other people is bad for her Morale.

| Physics genius at the age of 11, Raluca is the inventor of the PILGRED reversible combustion reactor as equipped on the Daedalus. Alongside Lai Kuan Ti, she also designed almost all of the on-board modules and is capable of improving them further. Due to anxieties linked to her autism, Raluca will only tolerate the presence of Schrödinger, her cat which she managed to smuggle on board in spite of the doctor's recommendations. Her disputes with NERON are legendary.

Tips
- Use your skills to participate in Projects in the Nexus and perform repairs around the ship.
- Although your primary objective is to repair the PILGRED reactor, you should avoid repairing it too much while there are living
Mush; otherwise, the Mush could use it to force a return to Sol!
- Your
Antisocial trait will make you quickly lose
if you stay in rooms with other people. You should find somewhere isolated to stay - ideally the Nexus or one of the turrets. This means that you'll rarely get a place to sleep unless you can convince the crew to build you a
Swedish Sofa.
- However, if you sleep in the same room as
Janice, the passive morale gain from her
Shrink skill will cancel out the morale loss from Antisocial.
Schrödinger will automatically move around the ship between cycle changes, with the goal of reaching the room you're currently in. Feel free to give him to crewmates who are low on morale, but be aware that the
Mush may try to infect him...
Skill Notes
Physicist is handy for repairing PILGRED in an emergency, and for helping with certain critical projects such as the Plasma Shield. It's useless outside of these situations, so keep in mind that you'll get limited (albeit important) value from it.
Detached Crewmember is easily Raluca's worst skill; not only is it selfish, but morale loss is usually easily remedied by other means (such as
Shrink,
Leader, and fruits).
Technician stacks with Physicist when repairing PILGRED, and it becomes invaluable to the ship as the days go by and breakages grow more common. Unlike Physicist, it continues to be useful even after PILGRED is repaired.
Genius is very situational, but can be exceptionally useful. Currently, it's only truly worth using on three things: the Plasma Shield, the Pheromodem, and the Retro-Fungal Serum. The former (considered to be the best project in the game) makes the ship extremely durable against Hunters. The latter two are devastating to the
Mush, and the ability to instantly complete them can help the crew out of a tough situation. After it's used, it becomes useless, so again, keep in mind that you'll get limited value out of it.
Designer allows you to contribute more efficiently to Projects. A solid choice.
Recommendations:
Technician /
Designer /
Physicist is Raluca's most popular build, making her excellent at repairing PILGRED and useful at finishing projects and repairs afterward.
Technician /
Designer /
Genius allows you to skip Physicist while allowing the crew to save time and
on a critical research or project.
If Mush
- Keep track of how much
you would have if you were human. A Raluca who doesn't ask for help with her morale will quickly become suspicious. Make sure you stay away from humans or else they might notice that you aren't losing morale to
Antisocial.
- Since you're usually expected to stay near the Engine Room, you can volunteer to load fuel as an excuse to get
Dirty. Remember to perform many human actions after you get extract, or you might become the unlucky victim of
Torturer or
Confident.
- Infect
Schrödinger with a spore via Infectious Cuddles. From that point, he'll spread a spore to any human crewmate who he scratches.
- When the Mush are ready to go all-out, you could use your
Technician skill to dismantle important objects, particularly the
Mush Genome Disc.
- If your teammates are able to relay you, you could use your skills to secretly repair PILGRED. Then someone could force an early return to Sol via the
Hacker Kit, or by using
Transfer on the current
Commander.
